Bamford Watch Department Rolex “Polaris” and “Sonar” Milgauss

Bamford Watch Department has announced their new custom designed Rolex models “Polaris” and “Sonar” Milgauss. The Milgauss model was originally created by Rolex in 1956 at the request of the scientific community to withstand the effects of intense magnetism. The “Polaris” model boasts a minimal yet eye-catching scientific dial reminiscent of 1950’s design while the “Sonar” model captured its inspiration from naval radar screens. Both of these watches are available for order directly from the new Bamford Watch Department website.

Skydiver Felix Baumgartner Wears a Stratos Flyback Watch and Free-Falls From The Edge Of Space

Skydiver Felix Baumgartner officially became the first person to successfully free fall from “the edge of space” by jumping out of a balloon 128,000 feet (24 miles into the atmosphere) above New Mexico. The journey back down to Earth lasted a little less than ten minutes. In addition to wearing only a space suit and relying on his parachute, Baumgartner wore his stock Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback, exposing it to the harsh environment and the shock waves of a supersonic skydive. The beautiful timepiece has become a legendary “space” watch, joining the Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute and the Omega Speedmaster Professional.

Triwa First Full Metal Timepieces

The Swedish watch brand, Triwa has introduced their first full metal timepieces, the Stirling Steel Nevil and Stirling Brown Nevil, both of which were made with great detailing. The Stirling Steel has a retro 70’s mesh band while the Stirling Brown has an organic leather Nato strap from the Swedish tannery Tärnsjö. Both timepieces will be available to purchase from the 19th of October at their website.
